A woman indicted with stalking Kate McCann apparently left her a phone message which questioned: "what if I am Madeleine?"

The defendant, twenty-four, who witnesses stated has repeatedly asserted she was the vanished Madeleine McCann, and her co-defendant are facing charges accused with stalking Kate and Gerry McCann from June 2022 and February this year.

On Monday, the tribunal heard phone records and information obtained from phones recorded Ms Wandelt repeatedly requesting Madeleine's mother for a biological test throughout that period.

Madeleine's case in 2007 - as a three-year-old during a family holiday in Portugal - is one of the most covered missing child cases and remains unresolved.

'I Am Not Seeking Money'

One phone message, shared in court, captured Ms Wandelt stating: "I realize I'm overweight and unattractive like Madeleine used to be, but I know what I feel."

While a separate message of Ms Wandelt's monologues with Mrs McCann's recording said: "Imagine there is a small chance that I'm her? What happens next? Isn't that significant for you?"

"I am not seeking money, I possess a life here in Poland, I simply desire to know," the message continued.

The panel was advised that by means of electronic messages, mobile messages and calls, Ms Wandelt asked for a genetic test, sent early photographs to her phone in a effort to show a similarity to Mrs McCann's disappeared daughter, and asserted to have "flashbacks" from a early life with the McCanns.

The investigator, a data specialist with Leicestershire Police who gathered the information, advised the court there "showed no any replies" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt also communicated with acquaintances of the McCanns, as per the communication logs.

On October 9th, 2024, Gerry McCann picked up a communication from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, declaring she had "a wrong number."

That day Ms Wandelt left a voicemail on Mrs McCann's voicemail stating "I will continue and I will prove my point."

The court learned Mrs Spragg struck up a association through digital means with Ms Wandelt prior to assisting her on a trip to the McCanns' home in that area in December 2024.

Call logs revealed Mrs Spragg had communicated through messaging service to Mrs McCann to express the press had depicted Ms Wandelt as "a crazy person" but that she ought to be considered genuine in the time preceding the trip to that location, that area, in that winter.

The court heard communications between the two individuals, in November 2024, planning endeavoring to obtain Mrs McCann's DNA samples from her bins or from cutlery at a eating establishment.

"We have to make a stand," Mrs Spragg told Ms Wandelt.

On the night of the visit to their house, Mrs Spragg sent a text which expressed: "We're currently sitting outside the McCanns' home with our vehicle dark resembling investigators. I desired to achieve this with Peter Andrew I hadn't anticipated I would be doing that with the McCanns."
