A Heartfelt Farewell: Cary Elwes Pays Tribute to His Director
Posting on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who was featured in Reiner's beloved 1987 film *The Princess Bride*, mentioned he finally felt able to express about his deep grief.
"Sufficient time has passed that I can finally put my grief into words," posted Elwes, noting that his introductory moment with Reiner left him smitten. "As we began passing more hours together I knew this was someone I longed to have in my life."
The actor posted behind-the-scenes footage from the production, commenting that he doesn't recollect "any day without laughter".
"The movie is about devotion, fidelity and selflessness. Things that Rob cherished deeply. That is part of the many reasons he was the ideal person to helm it," Elwes expressed.
He also paid tribute Michele Reiner, saying: "Claiming that they were a incredible duo would be an understatement. My heart still pangs every time I recall you." He concluded with a line from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but living is anguish without you."

In a separate piece, acclaimed director Martin Scorsese shared memories of Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.
"Right away, I loved spending time with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was very funny and sometimes acutely humorous, but he was never the kind of guy who would dominate the room," Scorsese wrote.
Scorsese pointed out Reiner's acting part in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the protagonist.

In a new development, a Los Angeles judge ruled to prevent the release of the Reiners' medical examiner's reports, at the request from the Los Angeles Police Department.
A legal directive placed a restriction on the investigation to prohibit the public release of "any investigative information, evidence and photographs" connected to the active case.
The Medical Examiner's office had earlier stated their deaths were the outcome of murder, with a public database citing the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".
