Trump Business Attempted to Bring In Nearly 200 Employees on Work Permits in 2025

The former president’s corporate entity accelerated its recruitment of overseas employees on temporary visas this period, while his government was creating barriers for other companies attempting to do the identical, an analysis released Thursday stated.

Based on information from the federal labor department, the Trump Organization aimed to bring in at least nearly 200 overseas employees in 2025 for temporary positions at the US president’s Mar-a-Lago resort, golf facilities and his winery in Virginia.

The number of applications for temporary work visas for workers including servers, clerks, cleaning staff, kitchen staff and farm workers was the highest ever submitted by the company, and up from 121 in the previous term, when his presidency concluded.

It was also the fifth instance in a decade that Trump had sought to bring in over a hundred overseas workers for seasonal jobs at his Florida resort, based on available data.

The disclosure comes amid a crackdown on legal immigration by his government that has involved the introduction of a $100,000 fee on skilled worker visas; increased review of the actions of the millions of people who already hold US visas; and restrictive new rules for foreign students and journalists.

In total, the Trump Organization aimed to employ over 560 overseas workers over the period Trump has been in the White House, from his first term and during 2025.

Notably, Trump was questioned by some in the GOP this period for remarks justifying the need for foreign workers when a business was unable to find people with “particular skills” to fill particular roles.

“You cannot just say a country is coming in, going to spend billions to build a plant, and going to take people off an unemployment line who haven’t worked in years, and they’re going to start making their defense systems. It isn’t feasible that well,” he stated to a host after she suggested that overseas employees undercut the pay of American employees.

The White House refused a inquiry for response, and the business did not immediately respond to an inquiry.
